The Nozomu Foundation's sports initiative, FC Nono, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ladli Foundation Trust (hereinafter "Ladi Foundation") to empower women and girls in rural India through sports and education.

Established in 2012 by Devendra Kumar, who overcame poverty and discrimination himself, Ladli Foundation is dedicated to empowering women and underserved communities across India by promoting gender equality, health, and education.

Ladli Foundation reached millions of lives through its groundbreaking programs, receiving notable awards like the National Youth Award (2014) and National Gaurav Award (2017) and gaining recognition from the United Nations. As of 2020, Ladli holds a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and won the India CSR Award in the same year, further affirming its credibility and influence.

This partnership brings together Ladli Foundation’s extensive network and FC Nono’s commitment to sports as a vehicle for change.

Key initiatives under this partnership include:

  • Football Academy: Led by FC Nono, a football academy will be established in rural areas to provide sports training, academic support, and essential life skills to young girls and boys. This academy will benefit from potential collaborations with organizations like JFA, J.League, and JICA.

  • Guinness World Record Challenge: Nozomu, Founder of Nozomu Foundation, will dribble a football over 2,000 kilometers from Kolkata to New Delhi to raise awareness and funds for gender equality. The journey will support a Japan tour for village girls planned for spring 2025, highlighting gender equality through sports.

  • India-Japan Sports Summit: Co-hosted by Ladli Foundation and Nozomu Foundation, this summit will gather sports and government officials to explore sports as a tool for social development.

Combining Ladli Foundation’s scale and outreach with FC Nono’s expertise, this partnership represents a step toward meaningful change and strengthened India-Japan relations.
